Danmarks Akvarium (Denmark's Aquarium) is located in Charlottenlund, about 6 km north of Copenhagen. The aquarium started construction in 1937, and was opened in 1939. It was expanded in 1974 with 5 large landscape aquariums and a small biological museum. Denmark's Aquarium consists of more than 70 aquariums with more than 285 species from all over the World. I think the most interesting is the electric eel and the landscape aquarium with piranhas. The aquarium looks a little old and tired, and a new aquarium is expected to be completed in 2013.
